Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
What is driver CPC ? The Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is being introduced across Europe to attain high standards of driving and improve road safety. This is ongoing periodic training to maintain your licence. Either do 35 hours in year 5, of 7 hours per year for 5 years. Any lorry of 3.5 tons and upwards and minibuses with 9 seats or more are covered by Driver CPC. How it Applies A Driver CPC lasts for 5 years, during that time you will need to complete 35 hours of periodic training to drive professionally. If you held a full D or D1 licence prior to 10th September 2008, you will have been granted a Driver CPC for 5 years ie until 10th September 2013. To drive legally after 10th September 2013, you must have completed 35 hours of training with a recognised and registered training provider before that date. |
