LGV Class 1, HGV class 1, Cargo Trailer Training

We offer training courses for towing trailers behind an HGV, LGV, bus or coach to satisfy the requirements for the Category E trailer test (previoulsy known as HGV Class 1).

Articulated LGV

An Articulated LGV or a vehicle over 7500kg with trailer requires a category C+E trailer licence.

A medium sized good vehicle (3500kg to 7500kg) with trailer requires a category C1+E trailer licence.

The trailer can for example be a large articulated trailer, a drag trailer, a cargo trailer towed behind a coach.

The rules are complex about Driving Licence Categories, vehicle specifications and the age at which you can drive which affect vehicles with trailers.

We provide preparation for the following trailer tests:

Coach and cargo trailer training
Medium LGV/PCV with trailer C1+E driver training
Larger LGV/PCV with trailer C+E driver training
